We have just come back from a week at the beachside bungalows in Acharavi (no8) we loved every single minute! Perfect location with amazing views..lovely food and drinks down at the beachside taverna - the service from Vangelis and his lovely wife was second to none - couldn’t fault one single thing..
The service from Travel with Friends was faultless from start to finish, they were friendly and encouraged us to ask for help with anything at all that we needed, we had no problems at all but I feel confident that they would have gone out of their way to help if needed, we are already planning our return trip - can’t wait!
Sunshine, warmth, sea, sand, swim, sunsets, music, dancing, singing, laughter, fun, relaxation, good food, friendly people, scops owl hooting, swallowtail butterflies, lizards, fish, donkeys, tortoises, fireflies...........
An amazing company - Nothing is too much trouble for Sue and Carole.
Wonderful people nothing is too much trouble to help you have a most wonderful holiday in Corfu, Sue and Carole know so much about the Island, its culture etc and will always share their knowledge with you, fab ladies.
We would like to thank Travel with Friends for all the helpful advice in the brochure, newsletters, and information in the house before and during our stay. Initially we were attracted to TWF by the simplicity of the brochure, but have subsequently realised there were many more benefits in organising our holiday independently. The greatest lesson we have learned is the value of dealing with local people rather than large scale operators. We have not ever visited the same place twice on holiday, as there are so many other places yet to see, but should we return to Corfu we will seek you out again and we will recommend you to our friends.
Dear Sue and Carole - please feel free to put this letter on your web-site so other people can know how good a TWF holiday is!Beachside Bungalows in Acharavi represent, in my view, the perfect holiday accommodation. Location, location, location is something Sue and Carole use on their web-site to describe the bungalows and, boy, are they right! We wake up in the morning and hear the sea lapping up to the beach just steps away.We come to Beachside at least twice a year. The most amazing and almost magical thing about this accommodation is arrival time. Dump the bags, quickly unpack and we find ourselves on the terrace taking advantage of a glass of wine (courtesy of the welcome pack provided!) and looking out to sea a few meters away. Every time we do this it actually feels as though we have never been away! It’s like being “home” again!I have been coming on holiday with Travel With Friends since 1998. I can not express how helpful Sue and Carole have been over the years. On the negative side, I actually broke my leg a few years ago whilst out on holiday with TWF and had to be in hospital for around a week. Sue and Carole were my life-line for the duration of the problem. Their knowledge of the island and the fact that they are Greek speaking made what could have been an awful experience so much easier. I cannot thank them enough.
Today’s Acharavi is a sprawling village with helpful and friendly villagers, it is a holiday resort that needs to be visited if you like good food, charming friendly people, safe beaches and water so safe that you can walk along way out before it starts to get deep.Over the years this village has modernised with the times and now has pavements and street lights and all amenities like doctors and dentists.....We go with Travel with Friends, a small firm run by Sue and Carole where you will be picked up by taxi and delivered quickly to your accommodation; (not going around the islands other resorts dropping off people and taking hours). When you arrive at Beachside Bungalows you will find a welcome pack to get you started Milk, tea coffee and of course Greek wine)... Of course you have to find your own flights but that’s very easy now with the Internet. All in all Acharavi is a very well recommended resort which suits people of all ages whether they are able bodied or disabled. When television companies cover Corfu they only seem to be interested in the well known resorts of Sidari Dassia or Kavos and Ipsos which are too lively for the likes of our ages who like a quieter lifestyle.
